- What is the purpose of this acquisition, and how will it benefit customers?
This acquisition aligns with the strategic goals of both Bitdefender and Bitshield, enabling us to strengthen our direct presence in Malaysia and better serve customers in the region. By joining forces, we can deliver enhanced value, including a wider range of advanced cybersecurity solutions such as endpoint protection, extended detection and response (XDR), managed detection and response (MDR), cloud security, and advanced threat intelligence services.
For our customers in Malaysia, this means improved access to Bitdefender’s cutting-edge technologies, deeper local support, and a seamless experience with our robust product and service portfolio. This move reflects our commitment to becoming your trusted cybersecurity partner, providing innovative solutions to meet evolving threats.
- What happens to Bitshield?
Bitshield remains an independent company, continuing to offer its full range of other cybersecurity products and solutions, with the exception of Bitdefender solutions. Bitshield as a company has not been acquired. However, Bitdefender has acquired the Bitdefender business segment of Bitshield. Moving forward, Bitshield will no longer engage in the Bitdefender business. The team that was dedicated to the Bitdefender business at Bitshield will now be joining Bitdefender Malaysian subsidiary. They will continue to pursue business and provide support directly under the Bitdefender name.
- What happens to our business contacts for Bitdefender at Bitshield?
They all remain the same. All the team members are joining Bitdefender and will continue to support and assist you as usual. Telephone numbers remain the same. Only the email ID will change for your contacts, which will be updated in due course.
- What happens to our tech support contacts for Bitdefender at Bitshield?
They all remain the same. All the technical support team members are joining Bitdefender and will continue to support and assist you as usual. Telephone numbers remain the same. Only the email ID will change for your contacts, which will be updated in due course.
- What happens to the resellers/suppliers who engaged in Bitdefender procurement process with us?
All our resellers and channel partners remain the same. No changes in their status. Your Bitdefender suppliers remain unchanged, and they will continue to interact with you as usual.
- Does this acquisition change our business status with Bitdefender?
No. There will be no changes in the business status or commitments.
- What happens to our long-term contracts (business or technical) for Bitdefender with Bitshield?
All contracts remain valid and will be fulfilled by Bitdefender either directly or indirectly as applicable. There will be no changes for you. The existing Bitshield team, continuing as Bitdefender, will remain available to support you as usual.
- Will there be new Bitdefender distributors in Malaysia?
We value our channel partners and will continue to meet their needs and help support their success. We will keep you updated on any further developments and plans.
- Will there be any changes in price agreements or commitments
No. All existing price agreements or commitments remain unchanged through contract duration.
